Francesco Bagnaia called his situation “ridiculous” after missing direct entry to Q2 in Malaysian Grand Prix practice. The double world champion had already failed to make Friday’s cut 10 times in 2026, despite arriving with confidence from his strong record at the circuit. Even during his difficult 2025 campaign, Malaysia had been a venue where he was fast. He summed up his frustration by saying his bike “only works in a straight line.”
