BRAD BINDER SAYS HE’LL MISS HIS KTM CREW AS HE LOOKS AHEAD TO SUPERBIKE

Brad Binder’s final KTM MotoGP chapter was a major talking point at a Monday event in Hangar-7, ahead of the MotoGP weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. KTM racing chief Pit Beirer was on hand, alongside Alex Marquez (Ducati Gresini) and Binder himself (Red Bull KTM). The group also took part in a go-kart race against Hans-Joachim Stuck and Patrick Friesacher.

Binder looked back to Spielberg’s 2021 race, when he won a chaotic contest on slick tyres after the track turned wet. “I have talked about this race more than any other race. It was one of my highlights, here on the Red Bull Ring for KTM to win,” he said. With the Austrian venue next on the calendar, Binder shared his hopes for this year as well: “I hope it’s [a good chance]. It’s a track that’s built for me and also suits our bike. I like hard braking. I think it fits super well. I’d like to push our bike as far forward as possible.”

Asked about leaving KTM, Binder acknowledged the emotional side of the move. “Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. My next adventure is the Superbike World Championship. I’m really looking forward to it. Everything will be new—new bike, new tracks and new tyres. But I will miss my crew. I’m looking forward now to finishing the season strongly.”

Beirer, meanwhile, offered his thanks to Binder: “I want to thank Brad for standing by us. He’s a really nice guy. It was an honour to work with the fellow.”
