MALAYSIA GP 2026: SEPANG SCHEDULE AND KEY RACE TIMES

27 Oct 2026·

Sepang hosts the 2026 Malaysian Grand Prix from October 30 to November 1, with the weekend’s schedule set to challenge fans watching from Europe. Sessions are listed in Central European Time (CET), seven hours behind local time in Malaysia. Both the 10-lap MotoGP Sprint on Saturday and the 20-lap Grand Prix on Sunday start at 8:00 a.m. CET.

The 5.543-kilometre Sepang International Circuit lies about 50 kilometres south of Kuala Lumpur. Designed by Hermann Tilke, it has five left-hand corners, 10 right-hand turns and a 920-metre longest straight. The venue first hosted a motorcycle world championship round in April 1999. Valentino Rossi remains its most successful MotoGP rider, with six premier-class victories.

Last year, Francesco Bagnaia won the Sprint for Ducati Lenovo, while Gresini Ducati’s Alex Marquez took the Grand Prix. This time, Bagnaia’s teammate Marc Marquez arrives with a 10-point advantage over Jorge Martin. Martin’s participation is uncertain after he fractured his right forearm in the Phillip Island Sprint. Aprilia Racing and the medical team are working to make it possible for him to ride his RS-GP in Malaysia.

Friday’s MotoGP track action begins with first practice at 3:45 a.m. CET, followed by a 60-minute practice session at 8:00 a.m. On Saturday, MotoGP practice starts at 3:10 a.m., with qualifying scheduled from 3:50 a.m. The Sprint follows at 8:00 a.m. Sunday’s programme includes a 3:40 a.m. warm-up before the MotoGP race at 8:00 a.m.; the Moto3 and Moto2 races start at 5:00 and 6:15 a.m., respectively.
