MILLER SAYS PHILLIP ISLAND CORNER HONOUR FEELS EMBARRASSING

23 Oct 2026·

Jack Miller says having a corner at Phillip Island named after him is both a huge honour and, in his words, “a little bit embarrassing.” Turn 4 was given the name Miller Corner before the 2022 Australian Grand Prix, placing the current Pramac Yamaha rider among Australian greats Wayne Gardner, Mick Doohan and Casey Stoner.

Miller is grateful for the recognition, but feels he has not achieved enough to be compared with those world champions. “I’m not in the same league as those guys, so that’s a little bit embarrassing,” he told Fox Sports Australia. He added: “But it’s amazing, more than I could ever dream of.”

The Queensland-born rider’s only victory at Phillip Island came in Moto3. In 2014, he beat Alex Márquez and Alex Rins to the finish by 0.029 and 0.032 seconds respectively. Márquez nevertheless took the championship that year, finishing two points ahead of Miller.

The 2026 Australian Grand Prix could be Miller’s final appearance at the circuit on a MotoGP bike. He is set to leave the premier class for WorldSBK next season, joining Andrea Locatelli in Yamaha’s factory team as it looks to challenge Ducati’s dominance. Miller is expected back at Phillip Island in 2027, when the venue hosts the WorldSBK season opener.
