Ai Ogura said his fight with Marc Marquez in the Malaysian Grand Prix sprint was his own, rejecting suggestions he had followed Aprilia team orders. Starting fourth, the Trackhouse rider made a strong launch and passed Pedro Acosta and Marquez to move into second. He then ran wide while braking for the opening corner, bringing Marquez back into the battle.
