RAZGATLIOGLU DROPPED TO LAST ON INDONESIAN GP GRID

11 Oct 2026·

Toprak Razgatlioglu’s difficult Indonesian Grand Prix weekend has taken another turn, with the Pramac Yamaha rider handed a three-place grid penalty after warm-up. Officials penalised him for riding slowly on the racing line at Turn 16 and impeding Marco Bezzecchi. It was Razgatlioglu’s second offence of the season, so he received a penalty rather than the warning Johann Zarco was given for the same type of incident.

The practical impact will be a two-place drop: Razgatlioglu qualified 19th, but Aleix Espargaro’s withdrawal means he will start last. Espargaro was among several riders given official warnings for first yellow-flag offences this weekend, alongside Pecco Bagnaia and Fermin Aldeguer.

The penalty adds to the physical challenge facing Razgatlioglu. He dislocated his shoulder on Friday and has been dealing with pain and reduced strength. He finished 19th in Saturday’s Sprint with the help of painkillers, and now faces the prospect of completing the full 27-lap Grand Prix while still injured.
