RED BULL TO SPONSOR PHILLIP ISLAND’S FINAL MOTOGP ROUND

17 Oct 2026·

Red Bull will also sponsor the 2026 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island, extending its involvement just days after being named title sponsor for the event’s move to Adelaide. The Phillip Island race will be the circuit’s final appearance on the MotoGP calendar, before the championship begins a new chapter in Adelaide in 2027. Red Bull will therefore back the Australian event in both its final Phillip Island edition and its first three years in Adelaide, 2027–28 as reported alongside the 2026 announcement.

The partnership adds Australia to Red Bull’s existing list of title-sponsored races this season, following events in Austin and Misano. MotoGP managing director Carlos Ezpeleta welcomed the company’s support, describing it as a reflection of Red Bull’s longstanding commitment to motorcycle racing and a fitting partnership for an important period for the sport in Australia.

Ezpeleta also highlighted Phillip Island’s place in championship history, saying the circuit had given fans many unforgettable moments. As MotoGP prepares for its last visit there, he said the series looked forward to marking the occasion with riders, teams and supporters from around the world.

The 2026 race will close a 28-year chapter at Phillip Island. The circuit’s fast, flowing layout—particularly the run through Doohan Corner and the dramatic approach over Lukey Heights—has made it a distinctive fixture. The report says the farewell is expected to attract exceptional attention, even without a likely Australian winner in the premier class.

MotoGP’s next Australian venue will offer a sharp contrast: Adelaide’s proposed street-circuit concept is presented as a symbol of a new era, while Phillip Island represents the championship’s traditional style. Both venues are expected to deliver notable racing, but the final visit to the island circuit gives the 2026 Grand Prix special significance.
