BULEGA REACHES 50 WORLD SUPERBIKE WINS IN JEREZ

17 Oct 2026·

Nicolo Bulega marked his final WorldSBK weekend with a milestone victory, taking Race 1 at Jerez to reach 50 wins in the championship. The 2026 world champion led every lap and finished ahead of Sam Lowes, achieving the total in only his third season in the series.

Bulega has reached 50 victories faster than WorldSBK greats Alvaro Bautista, Jonathan Rea and Toprak Razgatlioglu. His latest win also put him three clear of Bautista’s 2023 tally of 27, making Bulega the first rider to record 30 wins in a single WorldSBK season. He spent two of his three seasons competing against Razgatlioglu, who claimed the 2024 and 2025 titles with BMW.

“It is a good number,” Bulega told WorldSBK.com. “Honestly, since the first year that I arrived here everything was fantastic. 50 victories in WorldSBK in three years is amazing.”

The Italian, who is set to move to MotoGP, said the result carried extra significance as he prepares to leave the paddock. “I’m really happy. It’s my last weekend in WorldSBK, so for me it is important to leave this paddock with good performance.”

Bulega said he likes Jerez, though conditions were different from last year. “This track I like, but this year it is slower and more dirty than last year,” he said. He added that the conditions were the same for everyone and credited his machinery and crew: “I think I had a good package and my team did great work.”

With two races remaining in the season, Bulega said he hoped for favourable conditions but expected a difficult forecast. “I hope for good weather tomorrow but it looks a bit strange and tricky. But we will try our best.”

A victory in each of the final two races would complete an already record-setting campaign. Ducati’s contribution has also been central: the manufacturer has won every race so far in 2026, with Bulega and Aruba.it Ducati team-mate Iker Lecuona sharing all those victories.
