DF1 to broadcast the Austrian MotoGP sprint live on Saturday, with full race coverage on Sunday

This weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring includes the MotoGP Sprint, and fans in several countries can follow the action live through a mix of official and broadcaster-specific coverage.

In Germany, DF1 is set to carry the Austrian GP live. According to Speedweek, DF1 will broadcast MotoGP qualifying on Saturday at 10:50. From 12:45, the schedule shifts to the Moto3 and Moto2 qualifying sessions as well as the MotoGP Sprint. On Sunday, DF1’s coverage begins at 10:20 and includes races across all classes.

Speedweek also outlines how MotoGP viewing options in Germany have changed in recent years. Since ServusTV ended its linear operations in Germany at the turn of 2023/2024, MotoGP broadcasts there have been handled through a collaboration with DF1. Looking ahead, selected races are planned for free-to-air television on RTL starting in 2027. For 2026, Speedweek reports that 12 selected premium-class events will be shown live and free on DF1 in linear TV, while digital viewing will be available via ServusTV On and Red Bull TV.

In Austria, ServusTV is described as the free option, with both linear and digital channels—along with Red Bull TV—covering the MotoGP World Championship. Speedweek’s schedule for Saturday starts at 10:00 with MotoGP FP2, followed by MotoGP qualifying live at 10:40. From 12:40, ServusTV will show the Moto3 and Moto2 qualifying sessions and the MotoGP Sprint. On Sunday, ServusTV begins at 10:00 with live races across all classes, and Speedweek notes that ServusTV On has been on air since Friday.

For Switzerland, Speedweek says the rights are held by SRG, with coverage split across SRF (German), RTS (French), and RSI (Italian). SRF will air the MotoGP Sprint live on Saturday from 14:50, while the MotoGP race on Sunday is scheduled for 13:50. Speedweek adds that both the Sprint and the Sunday Grand Prix are also available via streaming and the SRF Sport app.

In Italy, Speedweek reports that RSI will broadcast MotoGP qualifying live on LA2 on Saturday at 10:45. From 12:40, the program includes Moto3 and Moto2 qualifying plus the MotoGP Sprint. On Sunday, LA2 is scheduled to show all races live from 10:55, with Speedweek also mentioning that repeats of MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3 races will run after 1:00 in the night.

RTS2 is listed as another Swiss option, with the MotoGP Sprint on Saturday at 14:55 and the MotoGP race on Sunday at 13:50.

Speedweek also includes a practical note for viewers: due to secondary rights allocations, coverage may appear on providers not listed in the initial broadcaster breakdown. It adds that reception and legality can depend on technical delivery methods, the chosen provider, and the specific channel lineup.

Finally, Speedweek provides a full event timetable for the Austrian GP. On Saturday, Moto3 FP2 runs 08:40–09:10, Moto2 FP2 09:25–09:55, and MotoGP FP2 10:10–10:40. MotoGP qualifying is split into two parts at 10:50–11:05 and 11:15–11:30. Moto3 qualifying follows at 12:45–13:00 and 13:10–13:25, while Moto2 qualifying is scheduled for 13:40–13:55 and 14:05–14:20. The MotoGP Sprint is set for 15:00 over 14 laps.

On Sunday, the day begins with the Bagger World Cup at 08:55, followed by a MotoGP warm-up at 09:40–09:50. Moto3 race is scheduled for 11:00 over 20 laps, Moto2 at 12:15 over 23 laps, and the MotoGP race at 14:00 over 28 laps. The Red Bull Rookies Cup race is listed for 15:20.
