ENEA BASTIANINI SIGNS WITH TRACKHOUSE APRILIA FOR 2027

Enea Bastianini’s next MotoGP move has been confirmed: the Italian will join the SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team for the 2027 season, with the deal running for two years. The announcement ends weeks of speculation and sets up a new pairing at Trackhouse alongside Raúl Fernández, whose contract has also been extended for the next two MotoGP seasons.

Bastianini, 28, is no stranger to big transitions. He entered MotoGP in 2021 after winning Moto2 world championship in 2020, and made an immediate impression as a rookie with two podium finishes. His breakthrough came in 2022, when “La Bestia” fought for the title for much of the year, winning four Grands Prix and finishing third overall.

After a season in 2023 that was shaped by injuries, Bastianini returned to form in 2024 with two race wins and a fourth-place finish in the championship. For 2025 he switched from Ducati to Tech3 KTM, and after two years with the Austrian squad he is now moving again—this time to Aprilia and the RS-GP.

The timing of the switch adds extra pressure. Bastianini will change manufacturers right at the start of a new MotoGP era. From 2027, the class will move to 850cc engines instead of 1000cc, Pirelli will replace Michelin as the single tyre supplier, and the technical regulations will be extensively revised.

Speaking about the move, Bastianini said he is “really excited” to race for Trackhouse over the coming two seasons, adding that his work with the new team begins immediately after the season finale in Valencia, when he will start testing with them. He also acknowledged the scale of the challenge created by the rule changes: it will be “a completely new challenge,” because the 2027 campaign starts with “a new bike, new tyres and new rules” in a new era.

Bastianini framed the move as an opportunity to bring his experience and competitive mindset to Trackhouse while helping develop the Aprilia RS-GP. “I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and my fighting spirit to Trackhouse,” he said, “so that we can develop the new Aprilia RS-GP together.”

He also pointed to Trackhouse’s progress during 2026 as a key factor in his decision. According to Bastianini, the team has developed strongly through the year and has become a title contender, and he wants to ensure it stays at the front: “I will definitely give my best so that we stay at the top.”

Trackhouse owner Justin Marks welcomed the signing and described it as an exciting moment for the team. He said it is “very exciting” to welcome someone like Enea to their Aprilia project, and he highlighted Bastianini’s experience and proven results. Marks referenced Bastianini’s racing résumé, his MotoGP victories and his experience at the highest level, calling it the “perfect scenario” for a team that, in Marks’ view, is “right before something big.”

With Bastianini set to arrive for 2027 and Fernández already locked in for the same two-season window, Trackhouse will enter the new 850cc, Pirelli and revised-regulation era with a fresh focus on building the Aprilia RS-GP around two riders who are both expected to contribute immediately to development and performance.
