JAPANESE MOTOGP GRAND PRIX NOT LIVE ON GERMAN FREE-TO-AIR TV

3 Oct 2026·

MotoGP’s 2026 Japanese Grand Prix takes place on Sunday, October 4, with the premier-class race scheduled for 7:00 a.m. Central European Summer Time. The day begins with a 20-minute MotoGP warm-up at 2:35 a.m., followed by the Moto3 race at 4:00 a.m. and Moto2 at 5:15 a.m. The MotoGP contest is set for 24 laps; Moto3 will run 17 laps and Moto2 19.

Viewing options vary by country. In Germany, the Japanese round is not among the 12 selected 2026 MotoGP events shown live and free on DF1. Those selected races are also available digitally through ServusTV On and Red Bull TV, while coverage of other meetings is limited to highlights. Sky Sport and motogp.com carry all 22 championship weekends, including MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, but both services require a subscription. ServusTV stopped its linear broadcasts in Germany at the end of 2023, and RTL is due to show selected races free-to-air from 2027.

Austrian viewers can watch all three classes live and free on ServusTV’s linear and digital channels, including Red Bull TV. Sunday’s coverage starts at 3:35 a.m.; ServusTV On has been broadcasting since Friday.

In Switzerland, SRF, RTS and RSI hold the broadcast rights. SRF zwei and RTS2 both begin their live MotoGP coverage at 6:50 a.m., with the race also available via the SRF stream and sports app. RSI’s LA2 starts at 3:55 a.m. with live coverage of all classes, and will show a MotoGP race recap at 8:05 p.m.

Broadcast availability can differ depending on secondary rights, reception method and provider, so viewers may need to check their local channel line-up for other legal options.
