MOTOGP HEADS TO MANDALIKA FOR INDONESIAN GRAND PRIX ON OCTOBER 9-11

4 Oct 2026·

MotoGP heads to Mandalika for round 17 of the 2026 season, with the Indonesian Grand Prix scheduled for 9–11 October. The event follows a Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi where Marc Marquez won both races and cut Jorge Martin’s championship advantage to two points.

Marco Bezzecchi took third in Japan, but he and Pedro Acosta risk falling further behind the leading pair in the title contest. Mandalika offers Bezzecchi a chance to build on last year’s Sprint victory. His 2025 weekend also ended in a collision with Marquez during the Grand Prix; Marquez, newly crowned champion at the time, suffered shoulder injuries that kept him out for the rest of that season.

The Indonesian circuit has also produced mixed fortunes for Ducati. Gresini rookie Fermin Aldeguer won last year’s Grand Prix, but Ducati’s other riders struggled with the special heat-resistant rear tyre, and Marquez managed only sixth in the Sprint. Aprilia will be looking to take advantage and respond strongly this time around.

Track action begins on Friday, 9 October, with FP1 at 10:45am and Practice at 3:00pm. Saturday’s FP2 is at 10:10am, followed by qualifying at 10:50am (Q1) and 11:15am (Q2); the Sprint starts at 3:00pm. Sunday’s warm-up is scheduled for 10:40am, ahead of the Grand Prix at 3:00pm.

After Mandalika, the championship continues at Phillip Island on 23–25 October, Sepang on 30 October–1 November and Lusail on 6–8 November. Portimao hosts round 21 on 20–22 November, before the season concludes at Valencia on 27–29 November.
