MOTOGP’S 2027 CALENDAR ADDS ADELAIDE AND BUENOS AIRES

25 Sept 2026·

MotoGP’s 2027 calendar will retain 22 rounds but bring two major venue changes, as the championship enters its first season with 850cc engines. The schedule spans 19 countries, described as the series’ most international yet, and includes five double-headers and one triple-header.

Adelaide replaces Phillip Island as the Australian Grand Prix venue, with the new street circuit scheduled to host MotoGP for the first time on 14 November. Argentina returns on 11 April, replacing Hungary’s Balaton Park. The race moves to Buenos Aires’ revamped Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez, which last staged a motorcycle Grand Prix in 1999; it takes over from Termas de Río Hondo, absent since 2025. Both the Buenos Aires and Adelaide events remain subject to circuit homologation.

Thailand opens the season at Buriram on 7 March, followed one week later by Qatar at Lusail. Qatar’s move to round two is among the calendar’s notable changes. The championship then heads to the Americas: Brazil at Goiânia on 4 April, Argentina and the United States at Austin on 25 April. The Austin event is listed as subject to contract.

The European stretch begins at Jerez on 9 May and includes the established rounds at Le Mans, Mugello, Barcelona, Assen, the Sachsenring and Brno. The Czech Grand Prix takes place on 18 July, before the summer break. Racing resumes at Silverstone on 15 August, followed by Austria, Misano and Aragón. Hungary is absent from the schedule.

The closing run starts with Portugal at Portimão on 3 October, then visits Japan, Malaysia and Indonesia. Adelaide follows on 14 November, with Valencia hosting the finale on 28 November. The calendar lists 22 events from Thailand through to the season-ending Spanish round.

The schedule was approved by MotoGP’s commercial group and the FIM. The United States round remains subject to contract, while the new Buenos Aires and Adelaide races await homologation. No rider or team quotes were included in the source reports.
