RED BULL TO SPONSOR HONDA’S FACTORY MOTOGP TEAM FROM 2027

1 Oct 2026·

Honda has confirmed that Red Bull will return as a major partner of its factory MotoGP team from the 2027 season, renewing a collaboration that ran from 2015 to 2023. The multi-year agreement comes as MotoGP prepares to switch to 850cc machinery and new regulations. Castrol will remain the team’s title sponsor, with Red Bull branding prominent on the bikes, in the garage and on riders’ leathers.

HRC president Koji Watanabe said the companies already knew each other well through racing and welcomed the chance to work together again in MotoGP. With the championship entering a new era, he said, it was important to have partners with shared goals and ambitions. Watanabe said he had no doubt about what they could achieve together and expected the partnership to bring fans more memorable moments while building on their history on and off the track.

Team manager Alberto Puig said the reunion was logical because few organisations compete in as many championships as HRC and Red Bull. He said neither side would be satisfied with anything less than victory, and that the combination should work towards becoming the benchmark again.

Red Bull previously backed Honda from 2015 through 2023, a successful period that included several riders’ and constructors’ world titles. Marc Marquez won four consecutive championships from 2016 to 2019; together, Honda and Red Bull recorded 45 grand prix victories and more than 90 podium finishes during their partnership.

The deal has a significant consequence for Fabio Quartararo, who is due to join Honda in 2027. The 2021 world champion has been a Monster Energy athlete since his MotoGP debut with Petronas SRT Yamaha in 2019, but Honda’s new sponsorship arrangement means his association with Monster is expected to end after the 2026 season. Diogo Moreira is expected to be Quartararo’s Honda team-mate, although the source describes his place as likely rather than confirmed.

Red Bull currently sponsors KTM’s factory team as title partner and also backs satellite squad Tech3. The brand has also been linked in speculation with a wider MotoGP presence, including possible future involvement with Ducati, where Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta have been mentioned.
