SERVUSTV DRAWS STRONG AUDIENCE FOR AUSTRIAN MOTOGP ROUND
25 Sept 2026·

Pedro Acosta’s breakthrough victory at Red Bull Ring gave Red Bull KTM’s home MotoGP weekend a long-awaited lift, and Austrian viewers responded in force. While attendance at the circuit fell short of expectations despite the event’s new date, just over 100,000 people watched the action in person. ServusTV, the Austrian broadcaster owned by Red Bull Media House, recorded strong television figures.
The channel’s Sunday coverage ran for five and a half hours, beginning with MotoGP warm-up and continuing until shortly before 3:30 p.m. The main race, which started at 2 p.m., drew 231,000 viewers on linear television and a 30 per cent overall market share. Its share among viewers aged 12 to 49 was 27 per cent, rising to 40 per cent among those under 30. The post-race analysis retained 161,000 viewers, equivalent to a 19 per cent overall share.
ServusTV also broadcast live from 10 a.m. on Saturday, with coverage continuing beyond the sprint. Jorge Martin won the eventful race, which attracted 122,000 viewers.
The figures underline the appeal of the Austrian Grand Prix on television, even as the trackside crowd was more modest than hoped. ServusTV also holds Austrian Formula 1 rights, shared with public broadcaster ORF. With the European rounds now over, the championship’s Asian races—and especially the Australian Grand Prix—will bring tougher scheduling for both broadcasters and fans because of the time difference.
