TOPRAK RAZGATLIOGLU EXPECTS A TOUGH ARAGON WEEKEND WITH YAMAHA

Pramac Yamaha rider Toprak Razgatlioglu has approached the MotoGP round at MotorLand Aragon with a clear goal: to lift his performance after a tough start to the season’s recent run. Coming off finishes of 20th and 14th at Silverstone, the 29-year-old says he expects Spain to be challenging again, but believes he is better prepared than before.

With the calendar offering a break between the British Grand Prix and Aragon, Razgatlioglu used the downtime to train both in the gym and on the bike. Speedweek reports that he worked in the “power chamber” and on his motorcycle every day during the pause, aiming to arrive ready for the final stretch of the 2026 MotoGP campaign. He also highlighted that he is already fully focused on the race weekend.

Aragon is a circuit Razgatlioglu knows well. He has extensive experience there from his Superbike days, including many races on the Spanish track. In 2025, he won a race at MotorLand Aragon in the Superbike World Championship, and this year he has already completed test mileage on the MotoGP machine.

That familiarity, however, comes with a potential downside. Razgatlioglu has run many laps with the Superbike, and he acknowledges that switching to MotoGP requires changes in riding style—meaning the advantage of track knowledge may not automatically translate into immediate results.

“ I like this track and have good memories—especially after winning there last time with the Superbike. But with the MotoGP bike it will be a difficult weekend again,” Razgatlioglu said. “I’m already fully focused on the race weekend and I trained every day during the break to be ready.”

Looking ahead, he expects the usual front-runners to be strong. Marc Marquez is referenced as a past standout at Aragon, while this year’s favorite is described as Ducati’s Marquez, followed by the Aprilia riders. Razgatlioglu added: “As always, I’ll give my best and try to improve further. I hope we find something that helps me take another step with the bike and achieve a special result this weekend.”
