YAMAHA CONFIRMS IZAN GUEVARA FOR PRAMAC 2027 AS JACK MILLER LEAVES AFTER 2026

Yamaha has confirmed Jack Miller will not race for Pramac in 2027 after choosing not to extend his factory contract. Miller publicly thanked Yamaha and Pramac for the 2025 project, while the team’s MotoGP future was already taking shape behind the scenes. With Toprak Razgatlioglu under contract, Pramac has moved to secure a new partner for the Turkish rider, naming Moto2 standout Izan Guevara as Miller’s replacement for next year.

Multiple outlets report that Pramac Yamaha announced Guevara’s promotion from Moto2 to MotoGP on Thursday afternoon. The Spanish rider, who is part of Yamaha’s development programme, will step up to partner Razgatlioglu in 2027. Guevara, a Moto3 world champion in 2022, will take over from Miller, who is set to switch to the Superbike World Championship.

Guevara described the move as something he has long wanted, saying: “For me, a dream comes true. Reaching MotoGP has always been my goal, and I know how hard it is to get into the premier class. That has taken many years of hard work and sacrifices from many people around me.” He also credited others for helping him reach the point where the premier class opportunity arrived, adding that the chance was not only down to his own efforts but also support from “my parents, my team, my physiotherapist and everyone who helped me develop both as a rider and as a person.”

Even with the MotoGP step confirmed, Guevara said he is keeping his focus on Moto2, where he and his team are fighting for the championship. He wants to “best possible” finish that chapter before turning his attention to the next challenge. Looking ahead to 2027, he said he is excited by the prospect of MotoGP entering “a new era,” believing it could open doors for riders prepared to make the jump. His first priority, he explained, will be learning how to adapt quickly and working closely with the team, before improving step by step toward the highest level.

For Miller, the end of his Pramac Yamaha run is arriving after a period of uncertainty. In the Aragon Grand Prix press pen, he said he had not made a decision about his next step at the time, but reports indicate he will sign for Yamaha’s World Superbike squad once contractual terms are agreed. Miller acknowledged that he held out for as long as possible, telling TNT Sports: “We were holding out to the last minute to see if there was anything available.” He added that there is no rush to choose the next move, saying: “We’re not in a rush to make our next decision. We’re trying to understand what’s best for me on a sporting side and see what it has in store for us.”

He also reflected on his MotoGP career, saying he never quite reached the level he set out to achieve, while stressing he is “very fortunate for the career I’ve had here.”
