ALEX RINS RULES OUT WORLD SUPERBIKE MOVE FOR NEXT SEASON

Alex Rins has confirmed he will not be switching to WorldSBK next season, despite other MotoGP riders weighing up the move. Speaking ahead of the Misano round, the Monster Yamaha rider said he is choosing to “stop [racing] with two wheels” rather than take one of the Superbike options available to him.

“I will not go to Superbike next year,” Rins stated. He explained that the decision came down to a different opportunity: “As I told you some races ago, a really good, really interesting project in mind that I can’t reveal [yet] because it’s not done 100%. I’m really happy.” Rins added that the choice was difficult, given his long MotoGP career and the “many fights, many races, many wins for 14 years, more or less.”

Rins also addressed the interest he received from WorldSBK: “I had two possibilities [in WorldSBK]. I really want to say thanks to them, because they were quite interested in me.” Ultimately, he said he found “another thing that really motivates me more,” leaving the details of his next step intentionally undisclosed for now.
