ALEX RINS TEASES DAKAR AND F3 OPTIONS AFTER CONFIRMING HIS MOTO GP EXIT

1d ago·

Alex Rins has confirmed he is stepping away from MotoGP, but he’s still keeping his next move under wraps. Speaking at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, the former Suzuki and Honda winner insisted nothing is final yet and said he can’t imagine staying away from racing.

“There is nothing closed,” Rins said. “For sure… I cannot stay at home! Four-wheels, cars, always wake up something in me. I’ve always practiced at home, in the snow.”

When asked about reports linking him to Dakar, Rins didn’t shut the door. “There is a possibility, yes. Same way that there is a possibility that I jump in an F3 car… There is nothing closed in any case - on circuit, in dirt, in Dakar or whatever.” He added that the plans are still being worked on: “We are working on something.”

Rins’ comments came after a difficult recent weekend at Misano, where he retired from the race due to vision problems and dizziness. This season so far with Monster Yamaha has brought a best result of ninth.

With MotoGP now behind him, the Spaniard’s message to the paddock is clear: while his two-wheel career is ending, he’s actively exploring options across very different disciplines—whether that’s rally-style racing in the Dakar environment or a potential jump into single-seater machinery like F3.
