HOLGADO AND ALONSO TEST CFMOTO’S CAMOUFLAGED V4 SUPERBIKE

Dani Holgado and David Alonso have been filmed testing CFMoto’s camouflaged V4 SR-RR superbike, offering a glimpse of the Chinese manufacturer’s developing flagship machine. The session was organised by CFMoto and the Aspar team, with Aspar Moto3 rider Maximo Quilles also taking part. No rider comments were reported.

Holgado is due to join Gresini Racing at the end of this season, where he will ride alongside Joan Mir. Alonso is set to move to Honda. Their test comes as CFMoto builds its presence in motorcycle racing and considers ambitions beyond its existing Moto2 and Moto3 involvement.

The V4 SR-RR has already drawn attention for its speed. Earlier this summer, it reached a reported 315.82 km/h (196.2 mph), making it the fastest Chinese combustion-engine motorcycle on record. That figure is 32.8 mph below the all-time MotoGP top-speed mark, set by Jorge Martin on his factory Aprilia RS-GP at Mugello earlier this year.

The 997cc bike is expected to reach the market, but its potential racing role is also in focus. With MotoGP switching to 850cc engines in 2027, WorldSBK may be a more plausible destination for the V4 SR-RR. If CFMoto enters the championship’s premier class, it would become the first Chinese manufacturer to compete at that level, and the bike would be the first Chinese machine to do so.

A move into MotoGP appears less straightforward. CFMoto has previously been linked with ambitions in both MotoGP and WorldSBK, but KTM’s position in MotoGP now looks secure after the Austrian company overcame its recent financial difficulties. KTM has also joined Ducati, Aprilia, Honda and Yamaha in signing the new manufacturers’ commercial agreement, which keeps all five brands in the series for the next five years.
