JORGE MARTIN BECOMES A BRAND AMBASSADOR FOR EYEWEAR LABEL 100%

1d ago·

Jorge Martin is preparing for MotoGP’s demanding final stretch after a strong weekend at Austria’s Red Bull Ring. The Aprilia rider took pole position and won the sprint before finishing second in the Grand Prix, with KTM’s Pedro Acosta the only rider to deny him a perfect result. Martin also reclaimed the championship lead: Marc Marquez finished second in the sprint and fifth in the race, leaving Martin 12 points ahead with seven rounds remaining.

The championship heads to Japan next, beginning the Asia-Pacific run of races. Martin is using the break to get ready, including training on his road bicycle.

Away from the track, the Spaniard has appeared in a different look in recent social-media photos: dressed in a suit and bow tie, wearing black sunglasses. The images reflect his role as a promotional partner for 100%, a San Diego-based American maker of sports and sunglasses known particularly in cycling and motocross.

Martin will soon trade the formal outfit for his black racing leathers at Motegi, where the Japanese Grand Prix is scheduled for October 2–4. The circuit carries a painful memory: last year, he fractured his right collarbone in a crash during the MotoGP sprint.
