LCR HONDA USES AI TO PUT MOREIRA AND ZARCO INTO A 1980S THEME AT MISANO

Misano Adriatico is set to be a lively MotoGP stop, with the VR46 Academy’s Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio among the headline names. Beyond the title fight, teams are leaning into Misano’s tradition of standout special liveries, often with retro themes. This time, LCR Honda—run by Lucio Cecchinello—has joined the trend by using an AI-based concept that places its riders in the 1980s. Rookie Diogo Moreira and veteran Johann Zarco were “sent back” to that decade through a computer program, with the resulting images showing both men wearing Honda-style team jackets from the era.

LCR didn’t stop at digital visuals. The team reportedly ordered matching jeans in a classic stonewashed look from the 1980s and 1990s, and the response from fans was immediate, with many calling for the retro outfits to be seen in person during the Misano weekend.

On the track, Moreira has been the more prominent story recently. The Speedweek report notes that the MotoGP rookie has accumulated 66 points and has been Honda’s most consistent rider since summer, moving him to 14th in the championship standings. Looking ahead, Moreira’s future is also a topic of discussion: the report says he could earn a place in HRC’s factory team in 2027, where he would potentially become teammate to former world champion Fabio Quartararo—though no official decision has been announced.
