MILLER WISHES INJURED TOPRAK WELL AS HE MISSES PHILLIP ISLAND
22 Oct 2026·

Toprak Razgatlioglu will miss the Australian Grand Prix and the remainder of the 2026 MotoGP season after a shoulder injury brought his campaign to an early end. The Yamaha rider dislocated his right shoulder in a crash during second practice in Indonesia. He completed Saturday’s sprint despite the pain, but retired from Sunday’s Grand Prix after eight laps. Further examinations in Milan confirmed that he needs surgery, scheduled for October 26.
The injury also rules Razgatlioglu out of this year’s Phillip Island visit, which is the circuit’s final appearance on the MotoGP calendar. The venue holds special memories for the 2025 Superbike world champion, who had been looking forward to racing there again.
Yamaha test rider Augusto Fernandez will take Razgatlioglu’s place in the Pramac line-up for the Australian round and the remaining races. He will join Jack Miller, who is preparing for his last home MotoGP Grand Prix. Miller had hoped to share the occasion with his teammate.
“It’s a shame Toprak can’t be here this weekend,” Miller said. “I know he was looking forward to riding here, so I wish him all the best for the operation and recovery. Hopefully he’ll be back to full strength soon.”
Miller will still have another chance to race at Phillip Island: he is due to compete there in the Superbike World Championship in February 2027. Razgatlioglu, meanwhile, will focus on recovering in time to begin MotoGP’s next era in the best possible condition, with 850cc bikes and Pirelli tyres set to feature.
