SACHSENRING RACE PROGRAMMES GO ONLINE FOR FREE

22 Oct 2026·

Fans can now explore the Sachsenring’s history through a growing online collection of official race programmes, made available free of charge as the circuit approaches its 100th anniversary next year.

The project is a collaboration between ADAC Sachsen and the Saxon State and University Library in Dresden (SLUB), and forms part of the Free State of Saxony’s digitisation programme for science and culture. Its first phase covers every Sachsenring race programme produced from 1927 through 2026. Digitisation is already under way: 50 programmes have been completed and can be viewed online, with more due to appear over the coming months on the SACHSEN.DIGITAL portal.

The collection is intended to make historical material accessible to fans around the world. Once the programmes and related special publications have been processed, the partners plan to add historic postcards and original film footage from the circuit’s early years.

The project was formally presented at a press conference at SLUB in Dresden, where ADAC Sachsen chairman Klaus Klötzner symbolically handed over the programmes to SLUB director general Katrin Stump. Klötzner said the organisation was pleased to see the Sachsenring represented in the library’s collections, describing the initiative as unique and welcoming the chance to share the programmes. He added that ADAC Sachsen would look through its archives to see what other material might be uncovered.
