MOTOGP CONFIRMS VALENCIA AS 2027 SEASON FINALE DATE

MotoGP has confirmed another piece of its 2027 calendar, with the championship set to end in Valencia for the second time in the four-stroke era’s modern run. The series has now locked in the Valencia Grand Prix as the season finale, scheduled for 26–28 November 2027 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
The confirmation follows an earlier announcement that the 2027 season will begin a week later than in 2026, with the opening round taking place in Buriram on 5–7 March. Crash.net reports that Buriram will host the third consecutive year in a row next season.
MotoGP also outlined how the early part of the year will be structured. After a condensed preseason testing programme, the schedule is set to be completed by mid-February. That timing is designed to lead into the season launch in Brazil on 21 February.
Valencia’s place at the end of the calendar is described as a tradition for the sport. Crash.net notes that only the 2020 and 2024 seasons were concluded elsewhere since the four-stroke era began in 2002. For 2027, the finale will once again be staged at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, with the championship expecting another late finish.
MotoGP deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta spoke about what makes the Valencia weekend special. “There are few places that capture the spirit of a MotoGP season finale quite like Circuit Ricardo Tormo,” he said. Ezpeleta added that the venue, the city and the fans combine to create a unique atmosphere each year, calling it “the perfect venue to bring another season of world-class competition to a close.” He then said MotoGP was “delighted to confirm Valencia as the host of the 2027 finale.”
Valencia’s local government also welcomed the decision. Juanfran Perez Llorca, president of the Valencia government, described the announcement as “excellent news for Circuit Ricardo Tormo and for the whole of the Valencian Community.” He said hosting the final round of the MotoGP World Championship is a tribute to the event organisers and to the fans, who, in his view, “ensure that this Grand Prix continues to grow year on year.”
The report also provides context for how MotoGP’s calendar has shifted in recent years. It points out that the 2026 championship is due to finish in Valencia on 27–29 November, and recalls that the original calendar had placed the race a week earlier. The Middle East conflict led to the Qatar race being moved to November, which in turn forced Valencia and Portimao to shift back a week to accommodate Lusail as the third-last grand prix of the season.
Looking ahead, MotoGP says the rest of its 2027 calendar will be announced later this week on 25 September. Crash.net attributes the delay in 2027 calendar announcements for many motorsport championships to the same Middle Eastern conflict, explaining that international series that typically race in the region have waited as long as possible to see whether events can be scheduled there.
