TOPRAK RAZGATLIOGLU TAKES TO A MOTOCROSS BIKE ON YAMAHA YZ450F

1h ago·

Toprak Razgatlioglu has been keeping busy away from the usual MotoGP routine, and the latest glimpse of his downtime came from an unexpected place: motocross. Between Grands Prix and during breaks, the reigning Superbike World Champion is often seen on a wide range of machines—Speedweek notes he has enjoyed everything from rally cars and quads to jet skis and pit bikes. This time, however, he posted a video from an MX session that showed him on a Yamaha YZ450F, a “big bike” in motocross terms.

Razgatlioglu shared the clip on Instagram with the simple caption: “Motocross – after long time.” The report highlights that, while motocross training has become a common option for MotoGP riders—citing examples such as Marc Marquez and Pedro Acosta—Razgatlioglu typically takes different routes for his training.

Motocross, as Speedweek explains, is popular in the paddock because it can help riders stay physically fit and work on technique, while also offering plenty of fun. The downside is the risk of injury. The article points to Ai Ogura, who injured his left hand during motocross training in Japan ahead of the Aragon GP, and notes that it remains unclear whether the Trackhouse-Aprilia rider will be back in time for Misano.

This weekend, MotoGP continues at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Razgatlioglu’s form there is already proven in the Superbike World Championship: in 2025, he won all three races at the venue. Whether his motocross refresh translates into progress with the MotoGP Yamaha at Misano is the question now facing the Turkish rider.
