Yamaha boss Paolo Pavesio says Jorge Martin’s interest in the team helped convince the manufacturer to sign the 2024 MotoGP champion to lead its 850cc programme. Yamaha began looking for a successor after Fabio Quartararo decided to leave when his contract ends and join Honda. Pavesio said Martin “made us feel wanted” despite Yamaha’s current struggles.
